”He makes me lie down in green pastures.
PSALM 23:2
He leads me beside still waters
She came to the water to think.
She had been running all week. Answering emails before her feet hit the floor. Solving everybody else’s problems before she solved her own. Showing up for her business, her family, her team and somewhere in the middle of all of it, she stopped showing up for herself.
Have you been there?
You are not burned out because you are weak. You are worn out because you have been carrying things that were never yours to carry alone. You have been trying to figure out in your own strength what God already has a plan for.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.”
Psalm 23:1-3
Did you catch that?
He LEADS her beside still waters. He does not push her. He does not shove her. He leads which means He has been waiting for her to follow. Which means the stillness she has been avoiding is actually the very place her restoration is waiting.
The still water is not a reward for when you finish everything on your list.
It is the strategy.
She who kneels before God can stand before anyone. She who sits beside still waters can run any business, raise any child, build any dream because she is not running on empty. She is running on restored.
So today, if just for five minutes, put it down.
The business will still be there.
The emails will still be there.
The to-do list will absolutely still be there.
But right now He is calling you to the water. To the quiet. To the place where He can speak and you can finally hear.
Be still.
You don’t have to figure it all out today.
He leads beside still waters for a reason.
And that reason is you.
”Lord teach me to be still. I have been running so hard and so long that I have forgotten how to rest in You. Lead me beside still waters today. Restore my soul. Remind me that You have a plan and that my hustle was never supposed to replace my trust in You. I lay it all down right now. I receive Your peace. Amen.
What have you been trying to figure out in your own strength that you need to release to God today?
When was the last time you sat in true stillness with no phone, no noise and no agenda?
What does restoration look like for you in this season?
”I am allowed to be still.
I am allowed to rest.
God restores what the hustle depletes.
I will sit beside still waters today.
And I will let Him lead.
