Scripture

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Devotional

She sat on the edge of her bed tonight with her phone in her hand and her mind racing through everything she still does not know.

Will the business make it. Will the relationship heal. Will the diagnosis be okay. Will the kids be alright. She kept scrolling through her own thoughts like she could find the answer in there somewhere if she just looked hard enough.

But some things were never meant to be figured out in advance. They were meant to be walked through one step at a time, hand in hand with the One who already knows the ending.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6

Not lean a little. Not trust when it makes sense. Trust with all your heart even when your own understanding has run completely out of road.

That is the hard part for a woman who has built her life on planning ahead. On being prepared. On having the answer before anyone asks. Trusting God in the unknown means admitting you do not have it figured out and being okay with that anyway.

You do not have to see the whole staircase tonight. You just have to trust Him with the step you are on right now.

He saw the end before you took the first step. Rest in that.

Prayer

Lord teach me to be still. I have been running so hard and so long that I have forgotten how to rest in You. Lead me beside still waters today. Restore my soul. Remind me that You have a plan and that my hustle was never supposed to replace my trust in You. I lay it all down right now. I receive Your peace. Amen.

Prompt

What is the biggest unknown you are carrying right now that you have been trying to figure out in your own strength?

What would it look like to trust God with just the next step instead of demanding the whole plan?

Write down one time God brought you through something you could not see the ending of.

Affirmations

I do not have to know everything to trust the One who knows it all.
My peace is not dependent on having all the answers.
God sees what I cannot see.
I trust Him with the step I am on right now.
The unknown is not unknown to Him.
